“Education is a weapon that can change the world”, once said.Studying is a way of learning new things and exerting what you have in mind.Having an intellect is what humans became the greatest creature of God.According to Santrock who studied the developmental task of an individual, school readiness must be at “early childhood”.
As a college student,I have my strategy in studying. Here are some of my tips and tricks in studying:
- Write down notes
In college, having notes is what will be your survival weapon to study.Writing with understanding is the best way to remember what you have learned.
2. Use mnemonic
It is one of my strategy that you can also use for easy way of memorizing and remembering things.I find it more interesting because trough the mnemonic that I’ve formed I learn new vocabulary word .
3. Use highlighter or underline the key terms in your notes
This is an effective strategy because colors are helpful for remembering but ofcourse we need a depth understanding on what we have highlighted on underlined.
4. Study with your peers
It is not about being dependent to your classmates but it is a form of communication wherein you can brainstorm, deepen understanding and learn new ideas from the.If you have influential friends who helped you to learn, you are lucky!
5. Have a study habit
Reading what you have learned after class will be a good start of reviewing your notes.Having a couple of hour in reading and browsing your notes will help you to survive and becomes productive.Additionally,,reviewing for examination should not be done the day before the examination, instead you should have an advance time for reviewing, this could be one week before examination.
6. Learn and apply
Do not be one of the “stagnant learners”,I used that term to those students who just read from the book or voice out their ideas with applying or doing an action.
We all need to be educated in order to help the progress and productivity of our nation.W e should start it within ourselves.Keep on studying and aim high!
